Cannabis sustainable

"At Curaleaf, we take our commitment to operating sustainably seriously and maintain the highest operating standards throughout our business. After all, there is no point making the benefits of medical cannabis available to all suitable patients if the effect is detrimental on our planet."

Responsible cultivation

Responsible environmental stewardship is central to our business, and critically so at our cultivation site in Portugal. We seek to manage the use of resources effectively from utilisation to disposal across our business and maintain a keen focus on the consumption of water and energy to minimise our environmental impact.

We recognise that the ESG risks and opportunities vary greatly throughout our business and therefore we make sure we have the appropriate structures, processes and procedures in place to meet and, where possible, exceed compliance.

Pharma-grade practices

We operate pharma-grade processes, and are compliant with the EU Good Manufacturing Practice (EU-GMP) guidelines. We meet and exceed quality at a global level but also at a site-specific level.

Governance

The governance and management of ESG risks sit with project management teams as well as our board. This means we have teams on the ground who are closer to not only the operations but the stakeholders we engage with, allowing us to adapt and adjust as we need to.

Mission

To build a science-led, vertically integrated European cannabis company, to bring the life-enhancing potential of cannabis to the people who need it.

Vision

To be the European cannabis market leader.
